About the Department:

The Portfolio Accounting team supports investment operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, reconciling cash and security positions, and ensuring portfolios are ready for portfolio managers and client reporting. Team members collaborate across operations, accounting, and custody functions to resolve issues, improve processes, and strengthen controls. The team offers exposure to complex investment products, operational excellence initiatives, and leadership opportunities within a highly collaborative environment.

How Will You Add Value?

Core Responsibilities:

  • You will perform and review reconciliation and reporting activities.

  • You will analyze exception reports and identify variance trends.

  • You will reconcile cash and security positions.

  • You will review and record investment transactions.

  • You will prepare cash management reports for portfolio managers.

  • You will process cash transfers and resolve overdraft issues.

  • You will review high-value accounting transactions for approval.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • You will support resolution of complex reconciliation breaks.

  • You will monitor reporting deadlines and team deliverables.

  • You will recommend process and procedure improvements.

  • You will support workflow planning and team coverage.

  • You will deliver training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • You will contribute to implementation and enhancement projects.

  • You will evaluate process changes and control effectiveness.

Team & Collaboration:

  • You will guide analysts on complex operational issues.

  •  You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • You will support management reporting and performance metrics.

  •  You will participate in risk-reduction and enhancement projects.

  • You will contribute to team meetings and operational discussions.

  • You will maintain current process documentation.

What Will Help You Be Successful In This Role?

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Six to eight years of reconciliation or investment accounting experience.

  • Experience supporting mutual fund or institutional portfolios.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and accounting standards.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office proficiency.

  • Strong cash and custody reconciliation expertise.

  • Experience with SimCorp Dimension and Aladdin preferred.

  • Ability to analyze operational trends and exceptions.

  • Experience supporting workflow improvements and controls.

  • Cash reconciliation experience in Aladdin is advantageous.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Coaching and knowledge-sharing capability.

  • High attention to detail and accountability.

Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
